Kabab Tabei is basically Persian pan kabab, and it is very easy way of making Kabab when you don't have a grill or BBQ.
I love any type of kabab made with ground beef therefor Kabab Tabei is one of my favorite foods. My mom made the most delicious Kabab Tabei and I learned how to make it from her adding my own twist.
Kabab Tabei can be served with bread or Persian saffron rice and either way is extremely simple and delicious. Most people serve this Kabab with cooked tomatoes, however I like to add pepper and onion on top as well.
Ingredients:
Ground beef 200 grams
Onion 1
Egg 1
potato 1 small size
Garlic cloves 2
Tomatoes 2
Tomato paste 2 tbsp
Red and orange pepper 1/2 of each
Salt and black pepper 1/2 tsp
Turmeric 1 tsp
Cinnamon and curry powder a pinch of each
Fresh squeezed lemon juice 1 tsp
Directions
Put the ground beef in a bowl
Grate 1/2 onion and potato in the same bowl
Add the egg, and all the spices and press the garlic on top, mix everything well.
Warm a pan and add few drops of oil
Shape the mixture to small burgers and slowly add to the frying pan.
Slightly fry both side of the Kabab.
Add a slice of tomato, pepper and onion on top of each kabab
Mix the tomato paste with lemon juice and 2 tbsp of water and a pinch of salt, and add it on top of the kabab
Cover and cook it on medium low temperature for 15-20 minutes.
Serve it with your favorite side dish such as salad, cooked Vegetables, rice, or in a burger bun.
